Walking from Oxford Circus

From the Oxford Circus tube station, head south down Regent Street. Take the second left onto Beak Street and continue into Soho. Cross Wardour Street and continue onto Old Compton Street. Turn right at Charing Cross Road and you are 90 seconds from us.

It is a long walk - about 10 minutes - but it is the only way to walk from Oxford Street into the Chinatown food scene. The route also passes some of the prettier corners of Soho.

Refuel after a Saturday on Oxford Street

Shopping on Oxford Street is exhausting. By 4pm, your feet hurt and you want to sit down somewhere with proper food. Most restaurants on Oxford Street are chains. Most halal options around there are kebab shops.

If you can manage another ten minutes of walking, The Greedy Sheep is one of the few sit-down halal restaurants in central London where you can recover with a hot bowl of hand-pulled noodles and refuel for the rest of the day.

What to order when you are tired

When your feet are gone, eat:

• Lamb noodle soup - hot, brothy, restorative
• Pan-fried dumplings - easy to share with your shopping companion
• Cumin lamb - high iron, high satisfaction
• A pot of tea - decompress

Skip the spicy stuff if you are tired. Heat takes effort. Save it for when you are alert.

Once you have eaten, you are perfectly placed for the rest of central London. Five minutes walk to Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, or Covent Garden. The West End theatres are minutes away. So is the Soho bar scene if that is your evening.
