Greedy Sheep is a casual place with fantastic food. Even on a warm day, the spacious upstairs stays comfortably cool. Alongside the expected stir fries, they serve Shaanxi Rou Jia Mo “sandwiches” and soups with rice noodles. Diners can choose their own protein and toppings.

We ordered the Soup-stirring Lamb Rice Noodle Soup with pickled cabbage, the Lamb Rou Jia Mo, Crispy Chicken with salt and pepper, and stir-fried Pak Choi with garlic sauce. This was dinner for two adults and one tween.

If I lived in London, this would be the soup I’d want on every cold day. The broth is savoury, deeply flavoured, and filled with tender shreds of lamb. The Rou Jia Mo “sandwich” was the most umami-filled treat. It came packed with scallion, cilantro, and red pepper mixed into lamb, all tucked into a flaky bun.

The vegetable was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The chicken was just as good. I’d happily return.
